North Carolina Senate Candidate Sig Hutchinson Picks Up Key Endorsements

Bookmark and Share RALEIGH, NC - September 11, 2012 -

Senate candidate Sig Hutchinson, D-Wake announced today two endorsements by organizations focused on women’s health - The North Carolina National Organization for Women Political Action Committee (NC NOW PAC) and The Planned Parenthood Action Fund of Central North Carolina.

“Wake County needs a voice focused on the important issues of women’s health as well as equal pay. I have a track record of supporting women’s issues, and will continue to stand up for these fundamental rights,” Hutchinson said. “Senator Neal Hunt continues to push the tea party’s extreme social agenda rather than focusing on championing health care issues, equal pay and other key concerns. We are going in the wrong direction, and there is no doubt we can do better. And, we can do better.”

Known as ‘Mr. Greenjeans,’ Hutchinson is widely recognized in Wake County for his efforts preserving open space, protecting water and air quality, expanding the greenway system, and promoting multi-modal transportation. Hutchinson has successfully led five Wake County and City of Raleigh bond referendums totaling more than $200 million. He has also been the driving force behind the creation of what will soon be more than 100 miles of interconnected greenways throughout the Triangle.
