Progressive Benefit Solutions, together with UNUM Group, will conduct free seminars in Raleigh and in Greenville focusing on ERISA 103 and the CLASS Act. This is a great opportunity for Human Resources professionals to brush up on their knowledge and receive Continuing Education credit.

The Raleigh seminar will be held on February 23 at the Embassy Suites in Cary. The Greenville seminar will be February 24 at the Greenville Hilton. Both seminars will run 8:30am to 10:30am and will feature Nimesh R. Patel, Assistant Vice President & Senior Counsel with UNUM Group.

The ERISA 103 session provides a review of ERISA laws and how they apply to benefit plans offered by employers. In particular, the following topics will be discussed: basic participant, beneficiary and claimant rights under ERISA, disclosure and reporting requirements, and the process involved in making a benefit determination.

Also presented will be a discussion on The CLASS Act, a program bringing much needed attention to the public about the need for long term care coverage and the fact that Medicare does not provide for long term care. Additionally, Medicaid requirements establish that individuals need to meet restrictive financial standards to be eligible. This session will provide participants with detailed facts about the CLASS Act as well as will help debunk some myths about the program.
