Dr. Bobby Park, co-founder and director of telemedicine for RelyMD, will present at the NC EMS Expo on Oct. 2. Dr. Park will speak on helping rural EMS agencies by supporting them with telemedicine capabilities.

The NC EMS Expo will take place Sept. 28 – Oct. 3 at the Sheraton Four Seasons and Koury Convention Center in Greensboro and Dr. Park will present on Oct. 2 from 9 – 10:15 a.m. Dr. Park will discuss the challenges faced by rural EMS providers as compared to their urban counterparts and how integrating telemedicine can help mitigate some of those challenges.

“Rural EMS providers are often the only way in which their citizens can access healthcare quickly and without transport barriers, often resulting in a higher than normal number of consults initiated for non-emergent health issues,” said Dr. Park.

“Through an integration of virtual access to emergency medicine physicians and rural paramedics, a small agency with limited resources can provide a greater array of care to their service area while still remaining completely and immediately available to citizens starting true emergency consults.”
