Rolesville FFA Plant Sale begins Saturday, April 9

A variety of spring plants will be available for sale during the annual Rolesville FFA plant sale beginning this Saturday, April 9, 2016, from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. at the Rolesville High School greenhouse located at 1099 E. Young Street in Rolesville.

To reach the greenhouse, visitors can take the Quarry Road entrance to the high school and the first right toward the ball fields. The greenhouse is along the side of the school building with plenty of parking in a nearby lot.

A variety of plants will be for sale including mixed hanging baskets, petunias, ferns, geraniums, ageratum, dianthus, verbena, sweet potato vine, marigold, vinca, lantana, dahlia, celosia, begonia, ajuga, canna, agastache and vegetables. Prices range from $2 to $12.

The sale will continue until all plants are sold. After Saturday, the greenhouse will be open to the public to sell any remaining plants Monday through Friday, 2 – 4 p.m.

FFA is a youth organization that prepares students in grades 6-12 for leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education. FFA students are future chemists, veterinarians, government officials, entrepreneurs, international business leaders, teachers and professionals in numerous other careers.

“Many of these quality plants were grown by our horticulture students,” said Daniel Beasley, Rolesville High School teacher and FFA advisor. “The money we raise from our plant sale will help fund FFA programs, career development events, field trips and summer camp.”
