RALEIGH, N.C. (October 26, 2011) — The RTP CFO Forum (www.rtpcfos.com) will hold its monthly meeting on Friday, November 4, 2011. The organization serves as a peer-to-peer networking and discussion opportunity for more than 200 senior financial executives in the Triangle area. The meeting will focus on embezzlement and fraud.

R. Lawrence Young, CPA, CFE, will discuss ways to detect and prevent embezzlement

and fraud in the workplace. Discussion topics include:

• Ways to detect and prevent embezzlement and fraud

• Methods used to embezzle and defraud funds from employers and organizations

• Motivating factors and characteristics of perpetrators

“Embezzlement and fraud are two areas that the leadership of any company or organization must keep top of mind,” says Brooks Malone, RTP CFO Forum board member. “Lawrence has extensive knowledge and experience in fighting financial crimes, and his insights will be most useful to our members.”

Young’s firm, R. Lawrence Young, CPA, CFE, PLLC, focuses on forensic accounting, consulting and the investigation of embezzlement, financial fraud and corporate malfeasance. He is retired from the Financial Crime Investigations Unit of the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigations. Young served nearly 20 years as a Special Agent, including the last three and a half years as the Special Agent in Charge. Prior to this, he worked for five years with the public accounting firm McGladrey & Pullen, in the audit group. Young also has more than six and a half years of experience in auditing with the North Carolina Department of Revenue. He became a CPA in 1986 and a Certified Fraud Examiner in 1990.
