Bell and Howell announced today that it has been selected by robotics company Savioke as a preferred service and support provider for its autonomous hospitality robot, Relay.
As part of the agreement, Bell and Howell will provide installation, preventative and corrective maintenance, project management, and technical documentation services in North America for Relay, a robot that delivers items to a hotel guestroom quickly, safely and autonomously.
“With its ability to operate elevators and navigate crowds, Relay delivers a unique guest experience by moving and interacting seamlessly with the humans that it serves,” said Steve Cousins, Savioke’s founder and CEO. “That’s why many hotels are beginning to utilize Relay as a key part of their customer service approach. Our strategic partnership with Bell and Howell ensures North American customers get the best service and support.”
Bell and Howell’s service organization is among the most sophisticated in the world, excelling at robotics, production workflow, automation and industrial mechatronics. Its remote-monitoring center is product-agnostic and provides real-time visibility and control of equipment.
“This partnership allows Savioke to deliver the ultimate guest experience by leveraging the latest technology backed by Bell and Howell’s expertise and service,” said Ramesh Ratan, Ph.D., Bell and Howell’s CEO. “Technological advancements, such as delivery robots, will play a critical role in the future of guest services, as they can greatly improve the overall guest experience. As millennials continue to grow as a key business travel demographic, their preference of autonomous, self-service experiences will continue to shape the future of hospitality.”
