Nearly 2,500 people took steps against lupus at the 15th Annual Walk To End Lupus Now: Charlotte. To date, the event has raised more than $104,000 to support lupus programs and services provided by the Lupus Foundation of America, North Carolina Chapter (LFANC).

“Our Charlotte Walk To End Lupus event enables us to show the lupus community that there is an entire army standing up for them and with them in the fight against lupus,” said Christine John-Fuller, President & CEO of the LFANC. “The event was a huge success and we are very grateful to appreciate our walkers, volunteers and supporters who are truly making a difference and are helping take steps solve the cruel mystery of lupus.”

On Saturday, April 16, King’s Green at Central Piedmont Community College served as home to the Walk To End Lupus Now: Charlotte event. Participants walked to raise awareness about lupus and raise funds for national research and local support services to help the estimated 10,000 people in the Charlotte area who are living with lupus.

Media Partners V101.9, Power 98, The Lake 102.9, and WCNC-TV were onsite and on the walk route with special giveaways. The Emcees for the day’s festivities were Nathan Ritchie from The Lake 102.9 and Fred Shropshire from WCNC-TV. The National Anthem was performed by Singer/Songwriter, Damiacci and the Finish Line Celebration concert was given by two-time American Idol finalist, David Leathers, Jr. The day also included fun and entertainment for the whole family.
