Veterans in the Workplace - A Panel Discussion Hosted by GSK

Research Triangle Park, N.C., September 12, 2018 – The Triangle/Eastern North Carolina Chapter of the British-American Business Council (BABCNC) and GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) will host an educational and networking event on October 2 at GSK’s Building 5 Auditorium, located at 5 Moore Drive in Research Triangle Park focused on veterans in the workplace.

Secretary Larry D. Hall of the North Carolina Department of Military & Veterans Affairs will deliver the keynote address and participate in a panel discussion that will talk about the benefits of employing skilled veterans. Lisa Benna, GSK’s SVP of Human Resources will moderate the session and will be joined by: Kimberly Williams, Executive Director, NC4ME, Jason Weaver, IT Manager, Veteran and Active Army Reservist, GSK, and Richard Kendall, CEO, HAECO Americas and British Royal Navy Veteran.

Steve Cain, president of the Triangle BABCNC, said, “We are privileged to have the opportunity to highlight the strengths and capabilities that veterans bring to today’s workplace and to help dispel some of the myths surrounding their employment. I am delighted that GSK is our host on October 2 and look forward to a very informative evening with our distinguished keynote speaker and panelists as well as the opportunity to network.”

Registration is required but attendance is complimentary for veterans and active service members, GSK employees and guests, Triangle BABC members and sponsors, and members of partner organizations.
