The Coalition began in 1991 to advocate for adequate funding for the mental health / developmental disability / substance abuse (MH/DD/SA) system. Our goal has not yet been met and we continue to advocate today. The Coalition speaks on behalf of North Carolinians and their families living with mental illness, developmental disabilities, and the disease of addiction. We bring the needs of these individuals to the attention of state legislators and other leaders. We hold our lawmakers accountable to provide the resources necessary for innovative, quality services that have a lasting positive impact on the lives of these citizens of the state of North Carolina.
